Pamela Boyd Williams is Vice President of the California Retailers Association, which represents all facets of retail: department stores, supermarkets, chain drug stores, mass merchandisers and specialty retail. Prior to joining the Retailers in 1996, she was Vice President of Governmental Relations of the California Grocers Association, acting as chief lobbyist, managing ballot measure campaigns, overseeing the Association’s work on all legislation and regulations, overseeing the Association’s legislative publication, and managing nine internal Board and membership committees.
Williams has over 20 years of advocacy experience on both the local and state levels. Williams was the Director of Governmental Relations of the Central City Association of Los Angeles, an organization of Los Angeles-based “Fortune 500” companies. She has also previously worked for the American Institute of Architects, the California Postsecondary Education Commission, the State Senate, and she has operated her own legislative advocacy firm.
Active in the community, Williams has served as a Member of the State Public Affairs Committee; International Downtown Association Legislative Committee; Alliance of Businesses of Childcare Development; Dean’s Council, Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning; and on the Board of Directors of the Response Center, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; and the California Private Elementary and High Schools Association. She also teaches legislative advocacy, bill analysis, and legislative communications to private and nonprofit groups.
Williams graduated cum laude from the University of Santa Clara with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Political Science. She has done graduate work at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and California State University, Sacramento.
